Here,
a social service is developed with people in extreme
poverty and living in social exclusion, especially street
homeless young people, adults and elder, both men and
women. There are eight different programs to receive
these people:
|
|
These programs
are intended to foster support spaces for basic needs
(lodging, food, clothing, health care assistance, etc.),
as well as specialized services (psychological and social
interviews, motivation interviews, psychiatric assistance,
etc.); thus, promoting the integration of these people
into social networks.
At present, one of the greatest challenges for this
area is to develop initiatives to address the diversity
and complexity of poverty, which widely differs from
that of the previous decades. The constant reflection
on these issues made us review, question and propose
alternatives to address this reality from a more efficient
and innovative point of view.
Embracement Program
Starting in 2002, this program was a merge of the Individual
Assistance Program with the Street Homeless Adults Program.
Its purpose is to give shelter to and support people
over 18 years old who live in the streets, favoring
their integration into social networks. This work is
addressed differently, through our offices, and the
day and night visits of professional volunteers to the
street homeless people.
Daily support, direction, and information on social
services, basic services, feeding, clothing, lodging,
as well as psychological and social assistance and management
is provided for derivation to networks. |
