this area Hogar de Cristo created a Foundation which
started its social action in July 1958, was given its
legal status as an independent organization in 1966.
Its aim is to support the poor and
needed in their efforts to obtain some form of housing.
Many professionals and individuals have contributed
their time and experience to this goal.
This Foundation has been operating over four decades
closely related to the world of poverty, it has gained
great experience in the construction of a basic dwelling.
People have the natural and basic right to acquire a
dwelling for themselves and their families; therefore,
a dwelling’s actual value lies in its capacity
to harbor a family’s normal life in a community.
The price of these dwellings depends
on people’s economic affordability; they are just
required to be part of its solution.
